TECAR therapy
One therapy - Many possibilities

Proven effectiveness
Trust the modern method

TECAR therapy is a modern method with a complex effect. It allows treatment with radiofrequency current to be carried out in combination with manual therapy at an early stage of rehabilitation. It produces a range of clinical effects adapted to the needs of a wide range of patients, depending on the level of energy emitted by the unit.

High effectiveness

Positive effects of therapy confirmed by Evidence Based Physiotherapy

Immediate effect

The effects of TECAR therapy are quickly noticed and felt by patients

Non-invasive method

Thanks to the technology used, TECAR therapy is safe and pleasant for the patientt

Tailored to the patient

Use in both acute and chronic patients, with the appropriate selection of parameters

How does TECAR therapy work?

The name TECAR comes from the Spanish phrase [Transferencia Electrica Capacitivia Resistivia], meaning ‘capacitive- resistive current transfer’. In Polish literature, one can also often come across the terms: resistive-capacitive diathermy, long-wave diathermy or RF treatments.

In contrast to traditional diathermy, TECAR therapy involves the application of energy to tissues through direct contact between electrodes and the patient's body. The mode of action on the human body depends on the selected unit operation mode and the electrical conductivity of the tissues, which determine the depth of energy penetration in the patient's body.

In capacitive mode, the high-frequency current primarily affects highly vascularised tissues with good electrical conductivity, such as muscles and the lymphatic system. In contrast, in the resistive mode, it affects bones, tendons and ligaments, which are characterised by low water content and poorer electrical conductivity.

Depending on the level of energy emitted by the unit and the type of condition being treated, the therapy allows to achieve the following biological and clinical effects:

  • Biostimulation - enhances cell metabolism and nutrition and fluid microcirculation, without thermal effect
  • Vascularization - leads to dilation of blood vessels and oxygenation of tissues with an accompanying thermal effect
  • Hyperactivation - produces a high thermal effect, and with it, detoxification and tissue reconstruction
